Privacy Policy

Last updated September 2026

maplog ("we", "us", "the app") is a private, friends-only map you share with people you add. Photos you take are placed on a map at the spot where you took them and connected into the path of your day. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using maplog you agree to the practices described here and in our in-app Terms & Conditions.

Information We Collect

How We Use Your Information

Your Content Disappears

maplog is ephemeral. To your friends, your posts are visible only on the day you make them. You keep a private, read-only archive of your own recent days inside the app, but your shots and paths are automatically and permanently deleted about 7 days after you post them — there is no long-term archive. If you want to keep something, share it out (for example to your camera roll or Instagram) before it expires.

How We Share Information

Your location and personal data are not sold to third parties and are not used for advertising. Your profile and the content you post are visible only to people you have added as friends who have added you back. We do not use any advertising or analytics tracking SDKs. Usage dates described above are stored only in our own database.

We rely on a small number of trusted service providers who process data only to make the app work, on our behalf:

Data Retention

Content you post is deleted automatically about 7 days after you post it. Account information, friendships, and the usage dates described above are kept until you delete your account. You can permanently delete your entire account and all associated data at any time from within the app (Profile → Settings → Delete account), or by contacting us below.

Your Choices

Automated Processing & AI

maplog does not use your photos, location, or other personal data to train artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models, and it does not profile you for advertising or make automated decisions about what you see. Usage dates are used only to count opens and posts. The only other automated processing is the routing described above, which simply connects your photo locations into a path.

Children

maplog is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
